Digital Printing Process for Custom Scarves

What is the process of making custom scarves in digital printing? Let's take a sample of silk scarf, it will have the follow steps:

1) Preparing Fabrics 

    Silk fabric will need Sizing before printing, Sizing or size is any one of numerous substances  that is applied to, or incorporated into, other materials — to act as a protective filler or  glaze.Sizing is used in textile manufacturing to change the absorption and wear characteristics of  those materials, after Sizing, fabrics can be durable, the colors can be fastness, colors on reverse  side can be more bright.Sizing looks like the white powder syrup. 

2) Adjusting colors

   The color of design shows on screen will be different on the silk fabric,as silk  fabric is a little  shining, our printers will need to adjust the colors by separating  the different colors one by one  and printing the colors on silk fabric to see if  the colors can match the original design shows on  screen, that is why that will  be better if you can provide pantone color number or a color sample.

3) Start Printing 

Digital printing refers to methods of printing from a digital-based image directly to silk fabric,it is kind of like printing on paper,the designs will be sent to printing machine computer after color adjustment finished,digital printing has a higher cost per page than more traditional offset printing methods, but this price is usually offset by avoiding the cost of all the technical steps required to make printing plates,It also allows for on-demand printing, short turnaround time, and even a modification of the image (variable data) used for each impression. 

4) Steaming and Washing 

Steaming and washing are mainly to 

a. fix the color on silk fabric 

b. soften the fabric to improve the hand feeling 

c. remove the extra sizing and dyeing stuff 

5) Hemming 

a.hand rolled hemming 

c.machine hemming 

d.fringe or tassel
